Good Neighbour is the brainchild of neighbouring rights expert Susan Cotchin, one of the few people who have been involved in the right since its inception in 1997.
With decades of experience on-ground in the UK, Susan has teamed up with Australasia’s most successful music and entertainment business, the Mushroom Group. Together, there is nobody on the planet more well equipped to hunt down every cent you’re owed in neighbouring rights.
After a number of years in the music industry, in 1999 Susan began working in London based PAMRA/PPL as Royalty Accounts Manager, securing income for PJ Harvey, Muse, Crowded House whilst developing relationships with the societies around the globe. When PAMRA was absorbed by PPL, Susan established International Royalties Rescue (IRR) in London, signing Beyoncé, Radiohead, Rihanna and many more. Susan is indisputably one of the world’s most experienced people in neighbouring rights.
As the Mushroom Group Chief Executive, Matt Gudinski heads up Australia and New Zealand’s largest music and entertainment collective.
Since its foundation in 1972, the Mushroom Group has always been a proud advocate for artists and companies breaking new ground as leaders in their field.
Good Neighbour’s values of authenticity and integrity have seen the company become both a global success and innovators in the artist royalty space.
The partnership has positioned Mushroom Group and Good Neighbour as a powerhouse duo, with the resources and expertise to act as champions for the continued development of neighbouring rights, supporting artists across the world.
The late Michael Gudinski, founder of the iconic Mushroom Group, moved the collective into the field of neighbouring rights, having acquired Susan Cotchin’s pioneering company International Royalties Rescue in 2019.
The joint venture was many years in the making as the shared vision of a service focused boutique offering, with a robust infrastructure, was imagined.
With extensive neighbouring rights knowledge, underpinned by the Mushroom Group’s 50+ year immersion in the music industry, Good Neighbour’s reputation of reliability and integrity sits at the core of the company’s culture.
